Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

GIVE

Make a tax-deductible donation

Establish a Giving Account and then donate cash, stocks, or non-publicly traded assets such as private business interests, cryptocurrency, and private company stock to be eligible for an immediate tax deduction.

GROW

Grow your donation, tax-free

While you're deciding which charities to support, your donation can potentially grow, making even more money available for charities.

GRANT

Support the SPIR Foundation, now or over time

Support the future of Pediatric Interventional Radiology at a pace that is comfortable for you.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)

Alternatively: IRA Charitable Distributions or IRA Charitable Rollovers

How does a QCD work?

Starting at age 73, owners of traditional IRAs generally must withdraw a minimum amount each year, even if they don’t need the money. These withdrawals generally count as taxable income, potentially increasing their overall tax obligation. This required withdrawal is known as a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows people age 70½ or older to give money directly from a taxable IRA to a qualified charity. The donation can count toward the donor’s RMD without increasing their taxable income. For 2026, an individual can donate up to $111,000 in QCDs.

Benefits of a QCD: Reduce your income-tax burden, avoid pushing you into a higher tax bracket, and reduce future RMDs by lowering your IRA balance.

Employer Matching

An employee charitable matching contribution is a workplace benefit where an employer matches an employee’s donation to an eligible charity, often dollar for dollar up to a set limit.

Donate Stocks

Gift long-term appreciated securities, including stock, bonds, and mutual funds, directly to the SPIR Foundation

Eliminate capital gains taxes and the Medicare surtax, which combined could be up to 23.8%

Take an immediate income tax deduction in the amount of the full fair market value

When donating securities directly to a charity, the charity receives the full value of the gift, and you may avoid capital gains tax on the investment’s appreciation.

Charitable Car Donation

A charitable car donation is when you donate a car, truck, boat, or other qualifying vehicle to the SPIR Foundation. The vehicle is scheduled for free pickup and then sold to raise money.

Benefits of charitable car donation: If you itemize your deductions, you may be eligible for a charitable tax deduction

Legacy Giving

Legacy giving is a charitable gift planned in advance to support a nonprofit organization through your estate plan or after your lifetime. It offers a meaningful way to extend your generosity beyond your lifetime and leave an enduring legacy in support of the SPIR Foundation’s mission.

Bequest Through a Will or Trust

A bequest allows you to name the SPIR Foundation in your will or trust, leaving a specific dollar amount, percentage of your estate, or particular asset.

Estate Donations

Include the SPIR Foundation in your overall estate plan through a gift of cash, securities, real estate, or other assets.

Gifts of Life Insurance

By naming the Foundation as a beneficiary—or, in certain circumstances, transferring ownership of a policy—you can create a lasting gift that may be significantly greater than the premiums you paid.

Retirement Assets

You can name the SPIR Foundation as a beneficiary of all or a portion of your IRA, 401(k), or other retirement account.

Charitable Gift Annuities

A charitable gift annuity allows you to make a significant gift to the SPIR Foundation while receiving fixed payments for life in return. It can offer the opportunity to support the Foundation’s future while also providing a source of income during your lifetime.
